Beachhouse, nestled on the sun-kissed shores of South Milton Sands, is more than just a cafe; it’s a culinary gem that encapsulates the essence of seaside dining. Patrons rave about the "lovely lunch" experiences, with fresh greens and expertly prepared dishes that marry simplicity with perfection. The ambiance, described as "fun, welcoming, and serene," invites you to relax while enjoying the sound of waves and a beautiful beach atmosphere.
Reviewers like Gareth Rees emphasize the "stunning breakfast rolls" and commend the excellent coffee, while the seafood selections, such as "bang bang prawns" and "crab sandwiches", receive high praise for their quality. Lovely lunch with the family. Fresh green veg, simple and done perfectly. Beach atmosphere feet in the sand. I’m not sure how other reviews are coming in under 5*. This team are doing a great job. Keep it up

Perfect beach side cafe bar. You sometimes stumble across places and instantly never want to leave, this is one of those places. It should really feel small, busy, crowded and claustrophobic, but it feels fun, welcoming and serene. Food wise there's plenty of breakfast options, plus good looking fish based choices for later in the day. We had the stunning breakfast rolls, which were delicious and the coffee was great too. I'm not going to lie the prices are on the high end, but it matches the quality and level of service so happy to pay. Definitely a place to seek out for more than just a takeaway coffee for a beach walk.

I thought our experience was fantastic. The food was great. We had the bang bang prawns, squid, burger, crab sandwich and fish goujons. Deserts were to die for. The only snag was that one of the young staff members was a little bit naive when trying to shift us from the table for other clients. The manager dealt with it perfectly. I still give it a 9/10. Solid.

Fantastic place! Booked well in advance after a recommendation and walked from Hope Cove. Tiny inside but great atmosphere and a fish-lover’s dream. Was great being able to watch the chefs cook what you’d ordered. Great night

Stopped for coffee, great table service outside. Good coffee and very friendly team. Have eaten here before and really enjoyed the experience. Even gave me a bowl of dog treats for our dog. So thoughtful

Evening dinner 1900-2130 sunset. After deciding to leave the car behind & try to avoid walking the single-track road, we arrived rather bedraggled from tackling overgrown hedgerows! The intention was to swim first and dine after, however, due to being short-staffed, they were unsure how much longer they would be able to keep serving - well done that waitress who did stay on, worth the 12.5% service charge! Good choice of refreshments for everyone and the food was exceptional! Salt and pepper squid and sizzling whole prawns - gorgeous! Although you’ll need to visit the public convenience nearby to wash your hands after peeling the prawns! Fresh crab salad, crab linguini, fish goujons and a portion of moules with some rosemary fries on the side - everything delicious! With good company, decent wine, the setting sun. & youngsters providing entertainment by jumping off the famous Thurlstone sea-stack arch it became the perfect evening. Some of us ventured in for a dip afterwards, while others enjoyed the setting sun. We opted to walk the road on the return, which thankfully wasn’t too busy!

Brought friends to celebrate a birthday. This place is simply special. If you like great quality seafood in a non-pretentious fun environment this is the place for you!!! Value for money is 10/10 - fresh local seasonal seafood comes at a cost anywhere but here you get a portion fit for a king. As long as you don’t mind having sand on the floor and sharing a table this is the place for you!!
